Privacy Policy for KshirSetu

KshirSetu (“the app”) is a business application for milk retailers to manage their daily orders, deposits and account statements with their milk distributor. This policy explains what information the app handles and why.

KshirSetu is not a consumer app. It is issued to retailers who already have a business relationship with a milk distributor, and an account is created for the retailer by that distributor.

Who is responsible for your data

Your milk distributor is responsible for the retailer records in the app. The app connects to the system operated by the distributor whose dairy code you enter when you first open it.

What information the app handles

Account and identity

Your retailer code, shop name and shop address. These are created by your distributor from their existing business records so the app can show you the right account.

Mobile number

You can add or change your own mobile number in the app. It is used by your distributor to contact you about your account.

Email address

You can add an email address in the app if you want your distributor to be able to email you your invoices and account statements. This is optional — you can leave it blank and use the app normally. You can change it or remove it yourself at any time in the app, and it is not used to send you marketing.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app registers a notification token for your device with your distributor’s system, so it can alert you when a deposit is approved and remind you before the order cut-off. The token identifies your device so the message reaches the right phone; it is not an advertising identifier and is not used to track you. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings, and the token is removed when you sign out.

Messages from your distributor

Your distributor can send you notices and reminders, which appear in the app’s message list. These messages are written by your distributor. The app records when you last opened your messages so it can show you which ones are new. There is no way to reply, and the app does not read or collect any message you write anywhere else.

Deposit records and receipt images

When you record a payment, the app sends the amount, the account paid into, the payment reference or UTR number, and — if you choose to attach one — a photograph of your deposit receipt. Attaching a receipt image is optional. The app opens your photo gallery only when you tap to attach a receipt, and it reads only the single image you select. The app does not use your camera and does not browse or upload any other photo.

Business and financial records

Your milk and product orders, deposits, dues and ledger entries. This is your trading record with your distributor.

Sign-in information

Your password and the security tokens that keep you signed in are stored in the secure, encrypted storage provided by your device’s operating system. Your password is never stored in readable form.

What the app does NOT do

• It does not collect your location.
• It does not read your contacts, text messages or call history.
• It does not use your camera.
• It does not show advertising.
• It does not track you across other apps or websites.
• It does not sell your information to anyone.

Why this information is needed

Your information is used only to run the milk distribution business you are part of:

• to show you your own orders, deposits and account balance
• to let you place a daily order and record a payment
• to let your distributor confirm payments you have made
• to email you your invoices and statements, if you have given an email address
• to notify you when a deposit is approved, or remind you before the order cut-off
• to keep your account secure and signed in on your device

The app does not use your information for advertising or profiling, and does not make automated decisions about you.

Who your information is shared with

Your information is shared only with your own milk distributor, who already holds these business records.

It is not sold, rented or shared with any other company for marketing.

Information is stored on secure hosting operated on the distributor’s behalf. These providers only store the data and may not use it for their own purposes. Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it.

How your information is protected

• All communication between the app and the server uses HTTPS encryption.
• Sign-in tokens are kept in your device’s encrypted secure storage.
• Access is restricted so that you can only ever see your own records.
• Staff access to the wider system is limited by role, and changes to money records are logged.

How long information is kept

Business records — orders, deposits and ledger entries — are kept by your distributor for as long as needed to run the business and to meet accounting and tax obligations under Indian law.

Your choices and your rights

• See your data: your orders, deposits and ledger are visible in the app.
• Correct your data: you can update your own mobile number, email address and password in the app. To correct your shop name or address, contact your distributor.
• Delete your data: to request deletion of your account, contact your distributor using the details above. Trading records that must be kept for accounting or tax purposes cannot be deleted, but your access can be closed and your personal contact details removed.
• Withdraw photo access: you can turn off the app’s photo permission in your device settings at any time. You will then not be able to attach receipt images, but the rest of the app will work.
• Turn off notifications: you can turn off notifications in your device settings at any time. The rest of the app will work as normal.

Children

KshirSetu is a business tool for milk retailers. It is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address and the “Last updated” date above will change.
